Qatar witnessed a wave of thunderous rain and winds yesterday, Thursday, leading to traffic congestion on the main roads in Doha. The Qatari Ministry of Interior announced that traffic was congested due to water accumulation in some areas on Salwa Road, Sabah Al Ahmad Highway, and February 22 Road, advising the use of alternative routes.
Videos circulated on social media showed several tunnels on the main roads submerged.

At least two shopping centers were evacuated as a precaution due to the heavy rains, and strong winds accompanying the thunderstorms uprooted some trees in Aspire Park.
Earlier, the Qatari Ministry of Interior advised road users to adhere to necessary safety measures, including maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, sticking to lanes without overtaking, driving below speed limits, avoiding sudden braking, and steering clear of standing water while not attempting to gauge its depth.

Several parts of the Arabian Gulf region were affected yesterday, Thursday, by atmospheric disturbances caused by the passage of a low pressure system in high-level atmospheric layers, coupled with moisture influx of tropical characteristics into the region and supported by remnants of moisture from the "Teague" tropical condition.
