First Comment from Biden on the Ain al-Asad Base Attack

U.S. President Joe Biden commented on the rocket attack that targeted the Ain al-Asad base in Anbar on Monday evening. The White House stated that "President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed on the attack on the Ain al-Asad base in Iraq," and noted that "Biden and the Vice President discussed the necessary steps to defend U.S. forces and respond to any attack." It was added that "the National Security team also briefed Biden and the Vice President on the developments in the Middle East, including the threats posed by Iran and its allies to U.S. forces." Earlier on Monday, U.S. officials reported that at least five American soldiers were injured in the attack on the Ain al-Asad base in western Iraq. Two Iraqi security sources indicated that two Katyusha rockets were fired at the base, with one source stating that the rockets landed inside the base.
