The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As a result of intelligence and field monitoring conducted by the specialized units in the Information Branch, the location of one of the individuals wanted by the judiciary for attempted murder, forming a gang, and buying stolen goods was identified in the town of Wadi Jamous - Akkar. His name is G. T. (born in 1961, Lebanese), and he is considered a dangerous individual who carries a weapon continuously.
On June 8, 2024, a force from the branch carried out a well-planned ambush in an orchard frequented by the suspect in Wadi Jamous. In a swift operation, he was arrested as soon as he arrived at the orchard, after his gun was seized from him, before he had the chance to use it. The arrested individual and the seized firearm were handed over to the relevant unit to take the necessary legal action against him, in accordance with the directives of the competent judiciary."
