Jordanian King Abdullah II called for intensified international efforts to achieve a comprehensive calm to avoid the expansion of conflict in the region. In a phone call he received today from French President Emmanuel Macron, the serious developments in the region were discussed. The King stressed the importance of stopping regional escalation and Israeli unilateral measures, warning of their repercussions that could lead to increased violence and tensions in the region. According to the Jordan News Agency, King Abdullah II emphasized during the call the necessity of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, ending the humanitarian suffering of its citizens, and working towards a political horizon that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution.
