Turkey and Syria May Hold Meetings: Minister Reveals

Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler revealed in a press interview that "Ankara and Damascus may hold meetings at the ministerial level as part of efforts to normalize relations if the right conditions are met." Regarding the deal to purchase 70 F-16 fighter jets, the minister expressed his satisfaction, indicating that the steps for the deal are continuing as planned. Guler confirmed that "his country wants to improve its relations with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, but its priority is to fulfill its commitments to NATO." He added, "Our priority is to fulfill our obligations to NATO, an important ally, and to strengthen solidarity with our allies. Our focus should be on ensuring that the alliance is prepared, determined, and strong."
