As the sun set on Saturday, the crowds of pilgrims began their journey to Muzdalifah, where they will perform the Maghrib and Isha prayers and spend the night until dawn on Sunday, the tenth of Dhul Hijjah, the day of sacrifice. Muzdalifah, known as the sacred site, is located between Mina and Arafat, and tonight the guests of Allah will perform the two prayers combined and shortened. They will stay there until the following morning, the day of Eid al-Adha, before proceeding to Mina to throw the Jamrat al-Aqabah.
The pilgrims spent their day on the plain of Arafat, raising their hands in supplication to the Almighty. The Saudi General Authority for Statistics announced on Saturday that the total number of pilgrims this year reached 1,833,164, of which 1,611,310 are from outside the Kingdom through various entry points. The number of pilgrims from within the Kingdom is 221,854, comprising both Saudis and residents.
The Hajj is ongoing under good conditions, as Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah announced the success of the plans for movement from Mecca and Mina to the plain of Arafat.
