The Russian Federal Medical and Biological Agency has announced that it is developing new medical services to care for the health of astronauts. In an interview with the Russian news agency TASS, the agency's head, Veronika Skvortsova, stated, "The Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) is working on creating a bank of cell products for each astronaut." She added, "In the field of personalized medicine, the use of regenerative technologies aimed at activating and stimulating repair processes in damaged cells and tissues is promising for astronauts. In this area, we aim to establish a cell product bank for each astronaut individually." Skvortsova noted that the FMBA is also preparing a space experiment, during which the capability to maintain biological materials in suitable conditions during space flights will be tested, initially studying the effect of space radiation on these materials. The FMBA is the federal executive body responsible for legal regulation in the field of medical and health support for workers in specific sectors in Russia, especially for those involved in sensitive sectors like astronauts.
