Title: Suffering from Depression? Eat These Foods Daily

Researchers indicated that high levels of micronutrients, such as vitamin C, carotenoids, and flavonoids, have been shown to reduce oxidative stress and prevent inflammation. According to a new study, consuming a large amount of fruit reduces the risk of developing depression later in life. The 20-year study, which involved over 13,000 participants, found that higher fruit consumption was linked to a lower likelihood of experiencing symptoms of depression in old age. Scientists state that "consuming at least three servings of fruit daily in middle age reduces the likelihood of aging-related depression by at least 21% compared to consuming one serving or less per day." Doctors worldwide have noticed an increase in the prevalence of depression symptoms among the elderly, including feelings of depression, lack of enjoyment, and cognitive processing delays, which are often accompanied by loss of appetite, insomnia, poor concentration, and increased fatigue with aging. They indicate that this is related to underlying neurodegenerative changes in the brain.
