News of the Assassination of Hezbollah Leader Hashim Safi al-Din in Janata Airstrike

Cairo News Channel reported that the targeted figure in the airstrike in Janata, in the Tyre district, is Hashim Safi al-Din, the head of Hezbollah's Executive Council. He is considered one of the prominent leaders in the organization and is the cousin of the group's leader, Hassan Nasrallah. He is also close to him and is among the candidates to succeed him. Hezbollah has not confirmed or denied the news yet. The "Al-Hadath" news website mentioned that Hezbollah has imposed a security cordon around the event site, and the identity of the targeted individual has not been disclosed.

According to sources, the strike targeted a building located between the towns of Janata and Deir Qanoun al-Nahr in southern Lebanon, resulting in the death of a member of Hezbollah who is believed to be a responsible figure, along with ten civilian injuries. The Civil Defense announced the deaths of two women due to the airstrike and 19 civilian injuries. "Al-Hadath" sources reported that the targeted building was rented by Hezbollah and was completely destroyed as a result of the bombing. Additionally, Lebanese sources indicated that the strike in Janata was carried out using a cruise missile launched from an Israeli naval vessel in the Mediterranean Sea, targeting very prominent figures in Hezbollah along with other leaders.
