Beware: Don't Make This Mistake While Drinking Coffee

A doctor has warned about a "grave mistake" that we might make when drinking our morning coffee, which could harm our health. Gastroenterologist from Harvard University, Sourabh Sethi, stated, "Coffee is very good for the brain, gut, and liver." He explains that the polyphenols found in coffee can enhance good bacteria, as well as concentration and memory, which may help delay the onset of Alzheimer's symptoms. However, he cautions: "Adding sugar to coffee leads to elevated blood sugar levels, which increases inflammation, and that is not good." Sethi also points out the risks of not using organic coffee, saying, "Coffee is one of the most pesticide-laden crops, and you really don't want to consume pesticides." Regarding acid reflux, Sethi suggests consuming coffee that undergoes long roasting processes, as it contains less caffeine and is therefore milder on the stomach. He advises adding oat milk exclusively to coffee, especially for coffee lovers who enjoy it with milk.
