The official spokesperson for the Libyan Parliament, Abdullah Blehik, announced that "the Parliament voted in its official session today, Tuesday, unanimously, to end the term of the executive authority and its head, Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, who came during the preliminary phase, and to consider Osama Hamad's government as the legitimate government until a unified government is chosen." It was also decided that the supreme commander of the army is the President of the Parliament, as stated in the constitutional declaration and the Parliament's decision regarding this matter, and the session was adjourned until next Monday. For his part, the Speaker of the Parliament, Aguila Saleh, stated: "We in the Parliament seek to achieve a single authority capable of control and justice among the people." He added: "The capital, Tripoli, has fallen under the control of armed gangs that announced their presence after the parliamentary elections."
