The President of the Russian Football League, Alexander Aliyev, announced that the Winter Russian Cup will take place from February 1 to 15 in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. Aliyev stated, "We are completing preparations for the Winter Russian Cup and are still waiting for confirmation from one foreign team." He added, "Once we decide, we will officially announce the participating teams and the schedule. For now, I can say that the tournament will be held in Abu Dhabi from February 1 to 15."
The President of the Russian League confirmed on October 23 that four teams would participate in the tournament, including foreign teams. It is worth noting that Abu Dhabi previously hosted the event last year from February 2 to 11, 2023, with the following clubs participating: Spartak Moscow, Rostov, Krasnodar, and Sochi. Spartak emerged as the winner of the friendly competition.
