The Russian Defense Ministry announced that Ukrainian forces suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment in the past 24 hours, with more than 500 Ukrainian soldiers eliminated and dozens of military vehicles destroyed. The ministry provided a detailed statement outlining the areas of combat and the losses sustained by Ukrainian forces in each area as follows:
Russian forces managed to eliminate approximately 220 Ukrainian soldiers in the Kupiansk and Krasny Liman sectors. "Up to 40 Ukrainian soldiers were neutralized, and an armored combat vehicle and three vehicles were destroyed in the Kupiansk direction as a result of airstrikes and artillery fire from the Western group of forces in the areas of Gryanikovka and Masyutovka in Kharkov region."
In the Krasny Liman direction, the defense ministry clarified that operational and tactical airstrikes, army aviation, artillery fire, and heavy flamethrower systems from the "Center" group of forces targeted enemy units in the areas of Yambolovka in Donetsk, Nevske, Chervonopovka, and Chervona Dibrova in the Luhansk People's Republic. "In one day, up to 180 Ukrainian soldiers were eliminated, and one infantry fighting vehicle, four armored combat vehicles, and self-propelled howitzers of the 'Gvozdika' model were destroyed in this direction."
The statement continued: "In the Donetsk sector, as a result of the active operations of units from the 'Southern' group and airstrikes and artillery fire, more than 210 Ukrainian military personnel were neutralized, with one infantry fighting vehicle, four armored combat vehicles, and seven vehicles destroyed, in addition to the destruction of an M777 artillery system, American-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery, and 'Gvozdika' self-propelled howitzers." Furthermore, ammunition depots of the 53rd and 110th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian forces were destroyed in the Toninkoi and Avdiivka areas of the Donetsk People's Republic.
In the southern Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia sectors, operational and tactical aviation, army aviation, and artillery of the "Vostok" group managed to eliminate units of the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of Ugledar, Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, and Shevchenko in the Donetsk People's Republic. Total enemy losses in these sectors for that day amounted to up to 80 Ukrainian soldiers, one infantry fighting vehicle, five armored combat vehicles, four light trucks, and D-20 howitzers.
The statement added: "In the Kherson direction, as a result of strikes, more than 30 Ukrainian soldiers were neutralized, and 10 vehicles and self-propelled howitzers of the 'Gvozdika' model, as well as Msta-B and D-30 howitzers, were destroyed in one day." The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that during the past day, Russian air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter and 12 Ukrainian drones.
