Al-Faisal Reveals Details of Al-Ittihad's Negotiations to Acquire Salah

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Saudi Minister of Sports, spoke about Al-Ittihad Club's previous negotiations to sign Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star and captain of the Egyptian national team. Salah's name has been linked with a move to the Saudi league during the last two transfer windows, particularly with Al-Ittihad making strong efforts to bring the Egyptian pharaoh on board.

Abdulaziz bin Turki mentioned in statements during the "Socrates" podcast that Al-Ittihad requested to negotiate a deal for Salah, but the financial terms were astronomical for a one-season loan. He added: "We inquired with Liverpool's management about the player's status, and the English club responded that Salah is not for sale."

Mohamed Salah's contract with Liverpool ends at the conclusion of the next season, which reignites questions about his future with the Reds, especially since he has not entered negotiations to renew his contract, making him a candidate for a free transfer from Anfield next summer.

The Saudi Minister of Sports also criticized the previous management of Al-Ittihad, led by Anmar Al-Haile, following his earlier statements in which he claimed to know nothing about the club's budget. He added that the ministry had sent complete budgets to all clubs and there is no discrimination or favoritism towards any club, emphasizing that their only bias is towards Saudi Arabia.
