On Tuesday, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, issued an order accepting the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani and appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani as the new Prime Minister, according to a statement from the Qatari Amiri Diwan. Following this, the Emir of Qatar issued an Amiri order to form a new Council of Ministers as follows:
1. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
2. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs.
