The famous Italian coach Fabio Capello confirmed that his decision to exclude Brazilian Ronaldo from Real Madrid was due to the latter's love for parties and his pursuit of women at the expense of football. Capello led the Spanish capital team during the 2006-2007 season, winning the La Liga title with stars such as Van Nistelrooy, Robinho, Raúl, Beckham, and Brazilian Ronaldo, who did not continue with the Italian coach for long, playing only 13 matches that season across La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Champions League, finishing his career at Real Madrid midway through the season with just four goals.
Capello revealed on Rio Ferdinand's podcast "Five" that the reasons for excluding Ronaldo were not due to his frequent injuries but rather his passion for partying. He added, "Ronaldo would take six or seven Real Madrid players to his house where they would celebrate noisily every night until morning, and that’s why he had to be kicked out of the team."
Capello mentioned the late Silvio Berlusconi, former president of AC Milan, regarding not signing Ronaldo. He said, "He called me one day asking about signing the Brazilian, and I told him, 'Don't do it; he is addicted to partying and thinks about nothing other than how to be surrounded by women,' to which he replied, 'Okay, thank you Fabio.'" This was before Berlusconi officially signed him in the middle of the 2006-2007 season.
