The Saudi "Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority" successfully thwarted two attempts to smuggle over 19 kg of shabu and heroin at the Al-Bathaa and Al-Wadi'a crossings. These drugs were found concealed in a vehicle and a truck that had entered the Kingdom through these ports.
In the first attempt, the Al-Wadi'a Customs managed to seize 8.5 kg of shabu, which was hidden inside the engine cover of one of the vehicles. In the second attempt, the Al-Bathaa Customs intercepted 10.3 kg of shabu and 23 grams of heroin, found concealed in the side boxes and refrigerator of one of the trucks.
Following the seizure, coordination was made with the General Directorate for Drug Enforcement to ensure the arrest of those receiving the contraband within the Kingdom. Four individuals were apprehended in this operation.
