The Kuwaiti Court of Cassation upheld the ruling of the Court of Appeals on Sunday, sentencing influencer Fatima Al-Mu'min to three years in prison with hard labor in a case of involuntary manslaughter due to a traffic accident. The case, which sparked controversy in Kuwait, dates back to August last year (2023) when Al-Mu'min drove at high speed, running a red light and colliding with another vehicle, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuring a third. Following the accident, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced that the influencer was arrested and faced 10 charges, including involuntary manslaughter, exceeding the speed limit, and running a red light. The misdemeanor court announced in March that it upheld the three-year prison sentence for Al-Mu'min, who was charged with killing two people by mistake and injuring a third. It is noteworthy that Kuwaiti influencer Fatima Al-Mu'min, who specializes in beauty and fashion, enjoys wide popularity on social media in Kuwait, with over two million followers on Instagram.
