A source within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection indicated today, Friday, that "border patrol in Texas is sheltering migrants in open fields due to the inability of facilities to accommodate large numbers of migrants." The American site Breitbart reported, "With its processing facility capacity increased more than threefold, the surge of migrants flowing into Eagle Pass, Texas, has led to migrants being housed in an open field near the only open port of entry in the city."
According to a source inside Customs and Border Protection, "border patrol is now forced to hold migrants outdoors in almost all facilities, near the second International Camino Real Bridge in downtown." The site mentioned that "over 1,200 migrants were provided with thermal blankets and placed in an open field near the international bridge, where the agency's capacity to transport and detain migrants in nearby border patrol stations has been exhausted."
