Jordan: Son Kills Mother with 40 Stab Wounds and Flees

The Jordanian street experienced shocking moments on Tuesday night when a Jordanian youth committed murder against his mother, stabbing her 40 times in various parts of her body inside their home in Karak province, southern Jordan. Colonel Amer Al-Sartawi, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate, stated to "Al Arabiya.net" that an individual stabbed his mother with a weapon while they were inside their home in Karak. She was rushed to Karak Government Hospital, where she soon passed away, and an investigation was initiated with a search for the killer ongoing.

According to medical sources, the suspect inflicted more than 40 stab wounds on his mother, using a "knife," with the motives for the crime still unknown, as Jordanian authorities continue their investigations into the incident. The prosecutor of Karak province, Maram Al-Aghwat, decided to form a committee from the forensic medicine department, including Dr. Ewaid Al-Tarawneh, Dr. Kamal Al-Habashneh, and Dr. Alaa Al-Bawat, to examine the corpse. The autopsy results revealed that the victim had suffered 40 stab wounds, most of which penetrated the chest, with others affecting the abdomen, neck, and back. It was determined that the cause of death was blood loss in the thoracic and abdominal cavities due to the rupture of the heart, lungs, and intestines.
