Breathless moments were experienced by visitors at an amusement park in the Al-Rusaifa area of Zarqa Governorate, northeast of Jordan's capital, on the second day of Eid al-Adha, after a group of visitors became stuck in the air on one of the rides. The moments of panic and terror were felt by those trapped upside down as shown in the video, as well as their family members present in the amusement park, lasting for quite a while. Security agencies and civil defense teams rushed to handle the incident.
In a statement, the spokesperson for the Jordanian Public Security Directorate, Colonel Amer Al-Sartawi, said that a report was received by the Al-Rusaifa police department on Monday evening about a malfunction in one of the rides at the amusement park, which had people inside. Rescue and ambulance teams from the Al-Rusaifa Civil Defense Directorate moved to the scene immediately.
He added in a statement to "Al Arabiya.net" that during the handling of the malfunction, one paramedic of the rank of deputy sustained injuries and was transferred to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment. Meanwhile, the malfunction was addressed, and all individuals were evacuated from the ride without injuries, except for a number of panic cases that were dealt with immediately, and an investigation into the incident was opened.
