The second international junior tennis tournament organized by the Golf Club concluded, following the first tournament held two weeks prior, on its clay courts in the Jnah area. A total of 71 male and female players from various nationalities participated, showcasing a competitive atmosphere among the players. Notably, the performance of the Lebanese players was impressive, with promising results recorded.
The tournament titles were distributed among Hungary and the Czech Republic for the men's singles and women's doubles, while Lebanon and Morocco shared the men's doubles title, thanks to the outstanding performance of Lebanese player Loi Maki, who narrowly missed the men's singles title after losing in the final to Hungarian player Laurent Gyuri.
The closing ceremony was attended by sports figures, including Mohammed Ouidat, a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Aref Mardini, a representative from YONEX, Ismail Faraj from the Golf Club Tennis Committee, and the chief referee of the tournament, appointed by the International Tennis Federation, Mohammed Abdullah Al-Munla.
The tournament director and head of the Golf Club Tennis Committee, Hassan Daouk, delivered a speech congratulating all the players and their families who traveled from distant countries. He also thanked the Tennis Federation for its efforts to develop the sport and the Golf Club management for their attention and support in facilitating the organization of events, describing the 2023 season as successful in all respects. He expressed gratitude to the sponsors and the tennis committee members.
The results were announced as follows:
- Men's Singles: Laurent Gyuri (Hungary) defeated Loi Maki (Lebanon) 7-6(6), 6-7(3), 6-2.
- Women's Singles: Stefania Noubrent defeated Vlada Gureleva 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
- Men's Doubles: Ibrahim Ben Yahya (Morocco) and Loi Maki (Lebanon) defeated Anthony Makrzel (Lebanon) and Mark Hofmann 6-2, 5-7, 10-8.
- Women's Doubles: Czech players Julie Hostáková and Katarina Kubová defeated Australians Renae Alam and Riana Alam 6-4, 6-0.
Trophies were awarded to the winners, and a commemorative shield was presented to chief referee Mohammed Abdullah Al-Munla for his efforts.
