Turkish media reported the death of the mother of former minister Abdülatif Şener, at the hands of his son, who held her hostage in her home. According to the Turkish newspaper "Dünya," Şener's son, named Bedirhan, shot his grandmother Leyla after an argument broke out between them in the former minister's house in Ankara. The newspaper, which did not specify the reason for the dispute, stated that Bedirhan threatened his grandmother with a gun, prompting former minister Şener to inform the police about the situation. Police and medical teams were immediately dispatched to the location where Bedirhan was holding his grandmother hostage. Before the authorities could intervene, Bedirhan shot his grandmother, killing her, after which he was arrested by the police and taken in for questioning.
