Putin Meets Abbas: We Are Following the Humanitarian Catastrophe in Palestine with Pain

Russian President Vladimir Putin, while hosting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, stated that Russia is following with pain and serious concern the humanitarian catastrophe occurring in Palestine. During discussions with President Abbas, Putin remarked that everyone knows Russia is currently defending its people with arms; however, what is happening in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine, cannot escape our attention.

He said: "Dear Mr. President, dear friends, allow me first and foremost to warmly welcome you to Moscow. We haven't seen each other for two years, despite our constant communication, and I am very happy to see you and your accompanying delegation."

The president noted that Russia is doing its utmost to support the Palestinian people, stating: "As you know, we have sent around 700 tons of various goods, and we are making every effort to seize every opportunity to support the Palestinian people."

Additionally, he expressed concern about civilian casualties, which the United Nations estimates to be around 40,000, most of whom are women and children.
