Title: Three Arrested in Aley for Extortion and Threats

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced that "as part of the continuous follow-up by the Internal Security Forces to combat crimes and arrest their perpetrators, information was received by the Aley Police Station in the Regional Gendarmerie Unit about unknown individuals threatening and extorting a woman (H. Sh., born in 1992, Syrian) to obtain an amount of $10,000 and that they were planning to kidnap her minor son if she refused to pay.

As a result of the extensive investigations and inquiries conducted by the police unit, the identities of two individuals involved in the operation were determined: - B. A. (born in 1979, Syrian), who is the mastermind, and - M. Sh. (born in 2004, Syrian).

On 2-7-2024, in Aley, following surveillance, a force from this unit arrested the first on a motorcycle, and apprehended the second in a "Toyota" vehicle.

During the investigation, the first confessed to threatening and extorting the victim to obtain money. He added that he intended to kidnap her minor son if she did not pay what he wanted, in collaboration with an individual known as: - M. J. (born in 1983, Syrian).

M. Sh. also confessed that he was aware of B. A.'s actions. In this context, M. J. was arrested, and during questioning, he admitted to the charges against him.

The vehicle and the motorcycle were seized, and the legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent authority based on the judiciary's instructions."
