# Indian Family Holds Wealth Equivalent to One-Tenth of India's Economy

The Indian bank "Barclays Hurun" spoke about the economic weight of billionaire Mukesh Ambani's family in India, as their wealth is equal to about one-tenth of the Asian country's GDP. The bank reported that the wealth of the Mukesh Ambani family, which owns India's largest business empire "Reliance Industries," amounts to 25.7 trillion rupees (385.5 billion dollars), equivalent to roughly one-tenth of the Indian economy, surpassing the economies of some Arab countries such as Iraq (267 billion dollars), Qatar (219 billion dollars), and Algeria (206 billion dollars).

When the bank assessed the family's wealth on March 20, it did not consider private investments and liquid assets in its study of the shares of the seven family members in companies like "Reliance," "Jio Platforms," "Reliance Retail," and others within the "Reliance Industries" group. The "Reliance Industries" business empire primarily operates in the sectors of energy, retail, and telecommunications.
