The UAE delegation will begin its appearance in the competitions of the "Paris 2024" Olympic Games through swimming and judo, which will commence on Sunday, July 28, two days after the official opening of the Games. The UAE will be represented by 14 male and female athletes across 5 sports: equestrian, judo, cycling, swimming, and athletics, during the Olympic Games held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
According to the competition schedule, the UAE will kick off its participation on July 28 with swimmer Maha Al-Shahhi competing in the 200-meter freestyle, with her teammate Youssef Al-Matrooshi making his debut on Tuesday, July 30, in the 100-meter freestyle. The judo team will also make its first appearance on July 28, with athlete Narmand Bayyan competing in the under 66 kg category, and his teammate Beshirat Kharoudi in the under 52 kg category. The judo athletes will continue to compete over the following four days from July 30 to August 2.
The show jumping team will make its Olympic debut on Thursday, August 1, by participating in the first-round team qualifiers, with the finals taking place the following day. Individual qualifications will begin on August 5, followed by the finals the next day.
Athletics will see its first appearance with athlete Mariam Al-Farsi in the 100-meter dash qualifiers on Friday, August 2. The cycling team will be represented by athlete Safia Al-Sayigh in the road race on Sunday, August 4.
