Paris Olympics: Athletes Complain About Food Shortages

The French newspaper "L'Équipe" reported on Friday that many athletes expressed their anger after experiencing food shortages in the restaurants at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. According to the newspaper, some athletes filed complaints due to a lack of various meals in the designated dining areas for competitors. The report noted that athletes need good nutrition to enhance their performance in competitions, with many of them raising concerns to officials, particularly about the shortage of eggs, which was especially troubling. Eggs are high in protein and healthy fats, as well as providing many nutrients and minerals needed by the competitors. The official partner of the restaurants in the Olympic Village has promised to increase the quantity of eggs and other desired items. The company told "L'Équipe" that product availability will be increased to meet athletes' needs. The Olympic Committee is responsible for feeding 15,000 athletes from 208 countries participating in various competitions.
