Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri confirmed that he will not return to political work for now, stating that the right time for his return has not yet come and "it is not a priority for the people of Lebanon." Hariri, in an interview with "Al-Hadath" channel, said, "The international community has called for change in Lebanon, and I am still continuing to stay out of politics," pointing out that "the moment to suspend my political work came for reasons I have announced previously and I believe Lebanon is going through a dangerous phase that is still ongoing."
Regarding the meetings he held during his stay in Lebanon, he said: "I offered advice to the political forces that visited me, and I do not see a breakthrough regarding the file of electing a new president." He also addressed the developments in the region, believing it is "time to try peace in our region, and I am not talking here about peace with Israel," noting that "we have established a watershed with Hezbollah," and that Iran does not want war with Israel, and "we must stand with the children of Gaza and their families."
Additionally, Hariri confirmed on the anniversary of the assassination of his father, the martyred President Rafik Hariri, that those who assassinated him will pay the price. He said: "Those who killed my father are members of Hezbollah, and the Lebanese state did not have the ability to stop them because we did not want to ignite a civil war in Lebanon."
