A Syrian military source reported today, Sunday, that "the United States has sent a convoy loaded with weapons, ammunition, and logistical equipment from Iraq to northeastern Syria once again." The same source stated in an interview with the Russian news agency "Novosti": "American forces brought a military convoy consisting of 40 trucks from Iraq into Hasakah province via the Al-Walid border crossing, and the trucks were loaded with logistical equipment, weapons, ammunition, and fuel tanks."
In the same context, a Syrian military source told Novosti: "Yesterday, Saturday, an American military convoy of 43 trucks carrying military equipment and logistical materials entered from Iraq into Syria and headed towards the American base in Hasakah province."
An informed source also indicated that American forces in northern Syria have intensified their training and begun to introduce new equipment and technologies intensively, in addition to reinforcing their bases with observation towers and air defense systems.
Since 2014, under the pretext of combating the "ISIS" organization, U.S. military commands and their allies have sent troops to northern Syria without the official approval of Damascus. So far, 24 bases of the Western coalition and four command headquarters have been established, and U.S. military bases in northeastern Syria regularly face rocket and drone attacks from Iraqi forces.
