UAE Joins Qatar, Egypt, and the USA in Call for Agreement in Gaza

The United Arab Emirates announced that it is joining the call made by the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and U.S. President Joe Biden to reach an agreement to ceasefire and release hostages and detainees. According to a statement by Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed, "The United Arab Emirates joins the call from the Emir of the State of Qatar, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the President of the United States of America to reach an agreement for a ceasefire and release of hostages and detainees." The statement further noted, "The United Arab Emirates urges the concerned parties to respond to the call for urgent consultations on August 15, 2024. As clarified by the three leaders, the proposed agreement will 'end the suffering of the people of Gaza and the hostages and their families.' The United Arab Emirates expresses its hope that no more time will be wasted by any of the parties."
