The Israeli army announced today, Thursday, the death of the naval commander in the Gaza City area associated with "Islamic Jihad," Anas Murad, and another individual belonging to the same movement that is fighting alongside Hamas in the Gaza Strip during airstrikes targeting them.

It also mentioned Ahmad Al-Masri, another figure from the same movement, noting that the latter "participated in the attack on October 7th and was also responsible for launching a large number of rockets from the Shuja'iyya area towards the Gaza envelope."
Additionally, the Israeli army revealed in its statement that "a number of tunnel openings were found in the Rafah area." It added that the air force targeted several Palestinians who were described as "terrorists."
During operations in Gaza, an Israeli soldier sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The army stated in the same release that the soldier was injured from a projectile fired towards the forces operating on a route to deliver aid, and the humanitarian corridor was closed for several hours following the gunfire.
The Israeli army stated that its forces "killed or arrested around 14,000 fighters," adding that among them were 6 at the brigade commander level, more than 20 at the battalion commander level, and about 150 at the saraya commander level.
It is noteworthy that the ongoing Israeli military campaign in the Strip has resulted in the deaths of more than 38,000 Palestinians according to health authorities in Gaza. Israel reported the deaths of 326 soldiers in combat in the Gaza Strip.
