The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced on Monday that it successfully launched the H3 rocket carrying a new satellite into orbit. In a statement released by the agency, it said: "A successful launch of the H3 rocket was conducted from the Tanegashima Space Center, which carried the ALOS-4 satellite into space, and the satellite was placed into the desired orbit." The agency noted that the ALOS-4 satellite is designed for Earth observation and to assess the impact of natural disasters, such as earthquakes and heavy rains. This launch marks the third launch of Japan's H3 rockets; the first launch in March 2023 from the Tanegashima Space Center was halted minutes after takeoff due to a malfunction in the second stage engines, leading to the rocket being dropped into the sea east of the Philippines. In February, there was a successful launch of this type of rocket.
