Expected Final for Arab Youth Basketball Championship

As expected, Egypt and Tunisia have qualified for the final of the Arab Youth Basketball Championship for under 16s, hosted by Jordan, after their victories over Algeria and Jordan in the semifinals. The Egyptian team had an easy task, winning 88-45, while the match between the host nation and Tunisia was much more thrilling, resulting in Tunisia winning by two baskets in the first overtime, 72-68, after the game ended in a tie at 63-63 in regulation time.

The hosts led in the first quarter 21-18, but the second quarter ended in favor of Tunisia 20-6. Jordan then took the lead in the third quarter 24-12, before Tunisia regained the lead in the fourth quarter by one point, 13-12, resulting in a tie at the end of regulation. In the overtime, Tunisia triumphed 9-5, thanks to a standout performance from Tunisian star Hamza Masrouj, who scored 23 points.

The first match concluded with Egypt winning, and the quarters were as follows: 20-8, 20-15, 27-12, and 21-10, with the highest scorer being the Algerian player Ayman Bilal, with 19 points. The two winning teams will meet next Monday to determine the champion, preceded by a match between Egypt and Tunisia for the gold medal in the girls' competition.

Additionally, later today, Sunday, the losing teams Jordan and Algeria will face off in the girls' category to determine the bronze medal winner, as well as the same teams in the boys' category for the bronze medal.
