Widespread Israeli Operation in Lebanon Within Weeks?

Former head of the Israeli counter-terrorism office, Nitzan Nuriel, revealed that "I believe that in a few weeks we will witness an Israeli operation in Lebanon that will last for months." Nuriel indicated that "the ground operation of the Israeli army will aim to push Hezbollah north of the Litani River, about 30 kilometers from the border monitored by the United Nations." He added that "the operation will be accompanied by airstrikes across Lebanese territory to show them the price they will pay." Nuriel clarified that "Israeli statements mean that our patience has run out, and if you cannot reach an agreement we can live with, (war) is our next step." He continued, "People, especially after October 7, fear two scenarios: a ground attack or rockets hitting their homes," and expressed his belief that "tensions may continue beyond September." He saw that "the decision rests with Netanyahu, so it starts and ends with him."
