Hamas responded to the threats issued by the Israeli Shin Bet to pursue the movement's leaders worldwide, stating that "these threats reflect the political and field predicament of Israel and do not intimidate anyone." The media advisor to the head of Hamas's political bureau, Taher al-Nounou, stressed that "the enemy's threats to target the movement's leaders inside and in some brotherly countries reflect the political and field deadlock the enemy is experiencing due to the steadfastness of our heroic people and their bold resistance." He added that "these threats do not scare any of the movement's leaders, whose blood has mingled with that of their families and our patient and resilient people's blood." He noted that "these threats represent a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly countries mentioned by the enemy's leaders and a direct assault on their security, which necessitates pursuing the enemy and holding it accountable for its arrogance and overreach."
The head of the Israeli internal security service (Shin Bet), Ronen Bar, announced that Israel would pursue Hamas leaders in Qatar, Turkey, and Lebanon, even if it takes years. Bar stated in a recording broadcasted by the Israeli public broadcaster on Sunday, "Our cabinet has set us a goal. It is to eliminate 'Hamas.' This is our Munich. We will do this everywhere, in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Turkey, and Qatar. (It may) take a few years, but we are determined to implement it."
