The Director of the Russian Federal Security Service, Alexander Bortnikov, revealed that the suspect in the car bombing north of Moscow on Wednesday morning is located in Turkey, and Russian law enforcement officers are negotiating for his extradition. In response to a question from reporters about the suspect's whereabouts and the possibility of his extradition to Russia, Bortnikov stated, "In Turkey, we are working with the Turks, but we will see," according to the TASS news agency.
For his part, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the arrest of the Russian national who carried out the bombing in Moscow. He wrote on the platform "X": "At 10:30 AM on Wednesday, representatives of the Russian Interpol department contacted the Interpol/Europol headquarters, and reported that a Russian citizen named Yevgeny Serebryakov committed a terrorist act by detonating a car bomb in Moscow, resulting in injuries to two individuals due to the terrorist act, and that this person arrived in our country by plane on flight Moscow - Bodrum… he was arrested by the Mugla Provincial Police units in Bodrum."
A criminal case has been opened regarding the bombing incident under the provisions related to attempted murder (Articles 30 and 105 of the Russian Criminal Code) and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition (Article 222 of the Russian Criminal Code). The Moscow Prosecutor's Office is monitoring the progress and results of the criminal investigation.
