"The Free Patriotic Movement" Responds to Kanaan: He Should Have Focused on Unity

The Central Media and Communication Committee of the "Free Patriotic Movement" expressed surprise that "any party-committed MP would hold a press conference to discuss his party's internal affairs. It would have been more appropriate for MP Ibrahim Kanaan to make a serious effort towards uniting the party, which is open for discussion, rather than engaging in a media spectacle, knowing well that every door is open to him."

The statement further noted, "It would have been better for him to be an example of commitment to party regulations and the movement's policy, rather than instigating a political situation that is outside the system and rules." The committee added, "Now that he has acted otherwise, he is invited to adhere to discipline within the movement, as he is fully aware of the ongoing procedures regarding his presence in the political council and within the political body, from which he has now become excluded."

They affirmed, "Our leadership is open to all, within the framework of respecting the movement's regulations, principles, policies, and institution, not through inventing new regulations and party concepts."
