Raghad Saddam Hussein, the daughter of the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, reminisced about her brothers Uday and Qusay on the anniversary of their deaths in 2003 during the American invasion of Iraq, which generated considerable reactions. On her account on the "X" platform, Raghad wrote: "God inspired my heroes who fought the occupiers until martyrdom.. bravery, valor, and steadfastness are acknowledged by both friends and foes; they were buried in their land, the pure land of Iraq that soaked in their blood and the blood of all our martyrs who fought in defense of the homeland." She added: "May God have mercy on you, my martyr brothers, heroes Uday and Qusay, my nephew Mustafa Qusay, and their companion who did not betray them and was martyred with them. Mercy be upon you and all the heroes of my nation."
The post remembered the deaths of Uday and Qusay Saddam Hussein, along with Mustafa, the son of the latter, and their bodyguard, in a fierce battle that erupted with American forces on July 22, 2022, around a large house in the city of Mosul in northern Iraq.
The activists on the platform interacted with Raghad's post, praying for the sons of Saddam, his grandson, and their bodyguard to rest in peace.
