Brazilian television channel "Globo News" reported that a plane carrying 62 people crashed in Vinhado in the South American country today, Friday. The website "G1" quoted the airline Voepass, which operated the ATR-72 aircraft, stating that it was en route from Cascavel in Paraná to Guarulhos in São Paulo. The fire department in São Paulo confirmed on social media that a plane had crashed in Vinhado, and they dispatched seven crews to the accident site. Brazilian President Lula da Silva mourned the 62 individuals killed in the plane crash in São Paulo, expressing his "solidarity with the victims' families." A video on social media showed the plane appearing to collide with a group of trees before a large column of black smoke rose.
