Turkish President Erdogan, in a message directed to Pope Francis, asserted that "the challenge to religious values and the promotion of deviance at the Paris Olympics rings the alarm for moral collapse," emphasizing the "necessity to act as a human coalition before it's too late for peace among Muslims and Christians in Palestine." He indicated, according to Anadolu Agency, that "the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniya and the attack on Lebanon demonstrated that Israel poses a threat to the region, the world, and humanity."
