Egyptian security sources revealed the arrest of those responsible for the murder of Hassan Al-Abidi, head of the manufacturing department at the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, in Boulaq Dakrour. The Egyptian Ministry of Interior issued a statement detailing the "murder of a high-ranking Yemeni military officer named Hassan bin Jalal Al-Abidi, director of the military manufacturing department at the Yemeni Ministry of Defense."
According to the Ministry of Interior, "in the context of the efforts of the Ministry of Interior to uncover the circumstances of the report received on the 18th of this month by the Giza Security Directorate, from a Yemeni national who found the body of his brother inside his apartment and the contents were scattered, after he had been trying to contact him for two days without response."
The investigations and information gathering led to identifying the perpetrators of the incident. The Ministry stated that the accused are:
1. Ramadan Mohamed Belydy, 29 years old, a driver residing in Al-Moneera Al-Gharbiya, Giza, previously accused in several cases including "murder, unlicensed weapon possession, theft, and intentional damage".
2. Abdul Rahman Ashraf Shahta Mustafa, also known as Abdo Asaliya, 19 years old, a metalworker residing in Al-Tawabiq, Giza.
3. Israa Saber Mohamed Atiya, also known as Dina, 22 years old, a housewife residing in Manshiyet Nasser, Cairo.
4. Suhayr Abdul Halim Mohamed Abdul Halim, also known as Menna, 17 years old, a housewife residing in Manshiyet Nasser, Cairo.
The Ministry of Interior mentioned that "the suspects were arrested after legal measures were taken. Upon confronting them, they confessed to committing the crime and acknowledged that two of them had previously known the victim and conspired to rob him with the assistance of the others. They exploited the victim's hospitality to them in his home on the evening of Friday, the 16th, and attempted to drug him with sedative pills in a drink to incapacitate him, allowing the others to enter his residence. They threatened him with a knife, but he resisted them, leading them to assault him, restrain him, and bring him to the ground, resulting in his death. They stole (monetary amounts in foreign and local currencies, some valuables and personal belongings), in addition to a rented car that was near his residence, and fled in it."
The Ministry added, "All stolen items, the rented vehicle, and the knife used in the crime, along with a shotgun and several cartridges that were in the possession of one of the suspects, were seized based on their guidance."
