Raad: We Will No Longer Call for Dialogue or Understanding

The head of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" bloc, MP Mohammad Raad, emphasized that "when our resistance steadfastly confronted the Israeli enemy, the situation of the enemy changed significantly and drastically. The Israeli enemy does not dare to take a step forward and remove a tent erected by the resistance in the Shebaa Farms on our Lebanese land so as not to spark a war between him and the resistance. Where is the superiority he used to boast about? Where is his power and cohesion? His internal crisis reveals countless divisions."

Raad's remarks came during the Ashura council organized by "Hezbollah" in the town of Labaya, in the presence of a crowd of community leaders and residents. Regarding the presidential issue, Raad stated: "True, we have a presidential vacuum that we want to fill, but we want to fill it with the right person who will safeguard the resistance and at the very least not stab it in the back." He added, "We used to tell our partners in the nation to come together and reach an understanding, but they turned their backs on us and closed their ears. Now we will not say anything to them; when they want to resolve the presidential entitlement issue, we are ready and won’t close the door. From now on, we will not call them to dialogue or understanding, and no one should seek support from foreign powers against the interests of their country, as they will be the first to lose. Foreigners do not serve anyone’s interests at all; they have no real friends; you are either used by them and managed at their discretion for their benefit or you gain no support for your rights."

Raad continued, "Currently, we are witnessing obstinacy from our political opponents in Lebanon, but we see that their stubbornness will lead to no results. The mandatory route to filling the vacancies, especially the presidency, is understanding, and our ceiling for that understanding is not very high because we do not seek to amend the system or change the National Accord document. The Taif Agreement, which you accepted and have started to implement since 1990 until now, has led to the destruction of the country due to your poor implementation of this agreement. We were not part of this agreement, but we proceeded with you on the basis that it was a source of consensus among the majority of Lebanese. We do not seek to change or alter anything, but no one can impose on us what we consider against our national interest and against the interest of the nation and their own interests as well."
