How Did Cocaine Reach Florida's Shores?

The storm "Debbie" washed large quantities of cocaine onto a beach in Florida, valued at more than one million dollars. The U.S. Border Patrol reported that a beachgoer discovered 25 packages containing 32 kilograms of cocaine on the shore and contacted authorities. The border patrol did not disclose the exact location of the cocaine but released pictures of the packages, which feature a red triangle on the label. The person who found the shipment discovered it wrapped in a garbage bag among seaweed, leaves, and debris. "Debbie" made landfall in the United States as a Category 1 hurricane on Monday morning, with wind speeds exceeding 130 kilometers per hour. It was later downgraded to a tropical storm, amid forecasts of bringing rain and flooding as it moved north toward Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Drugs are often washed ashore in south Florida and the surrounding waters, where traffickers transport these contraband items from South America to the United States.
