The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced that "as part of the monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces to limit drug trafficking and promotion in various Lebanese regions, information was gathered by the Information Branch regarding a network involved in storing, packaging, distributing, and promoting drugs in several areas of Mount Lebanon."
The statement added: Following that, and as a result of intensive investigations, this branch was able to identify their identities, including: M. D. (born in 1991, Lebanese), N. H. (born in 1995, Lebanese), M. H. (born in 1998, Syrian).
It was reported that on January 15, 2024, in the Jamous area of the suburb, after a thorough observation and monitoring operation, one of the branch's patrols was able to arrest (M. D.) in the act while he was promoting drugs in a BMW car, which was seized. During the search of him and the car, three plastic containers containing cocaine, a firearm, a sum of money, and a mobile phone were found.
Simultaneously, a raid was conducted at his residence in the mentioned area, and his wife and (M. H.) were arrested inside. During the search of them and the house, the following was seized: a plastic container containing approximately 9.5 grams of cocaine, a plastic container with traces of white powder, a large quantity of capsules, plastic containers, and nylon bags used in drug packaging, a small metal strainer used for drug use, a mobile phone, and a sum of money.
The Directorate continued: During the investigation, (M. D.) confessed to storing and packaging drugs inside his house in the Jamous area and promoting them to several customers using the seized vehicle. (M. H.) declared that he was involved in drug promotion and distribution to dealers. (N. H.) also admitted to the charges against her and to drug use. The necessary legal actions were taken against them, and they were placed with the seized items under the authority of the relevant judicial reference based on the court's instructions.
