Israeli aircraft dropped leaflets over southern areas addressing the residents of the south. The leaflets, which featured the flags of Hezbollah and Lebanon, stated: "To the residents of southern Lebanon, we would like to inform you that Hezbollah is taking the opportunity to infiltrate your homes, sacred lands, workplaces, and livelihood, to act against the State of Israel and exploit your properties for their terrorist plans." The leaflet continued: "You must stop this terrorism for your safety by exercising caution in the area. The concealment of Hezbollah elements in civilian areas is the real danger, which harms you."
In response, the Municipality of Kfarshouba confirmed that "Israeli aircraft dropped leaflets over the town of Kfarshouba yesterday, warning residents against dealing with Hezbollah elements and sheltering them." The municipality viewed these leaflets as "a pretext to justify aggressive actions they intend to carry out against our civilian population, who are secure in their homes, maintaining their properties, and holding onto their homeland and land." The municipality asserted in a statement that "the town is free from weapons, armed elements, and armed manifestations except for the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL forces."
Additionally, the municipality stated that "since the beginning of military operations, the Israeli enemy has bombed four houses inhabited by civilians, with no presence of weapons or armed individuals," and as a result, the municipality initiated communications with UNIFIL and the Lebanese Army, requesting "intervention with the warring parties to neutralize the town from the areas of conflict and to establish a neutral sheltering area secured by the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL."
The municipality warned "the Israeli army, which continues to occupy the Kfarshouba heights and its lands without any justification, as this land is undisputed with anyone, to refrain from attacking our peaceful civilian population." It also called upon "the Lebanese government and countries with forces in UNIFIL to intervene to curb the hostile intentions that the enemy is paving the way for against Kfarshouba and its residents."
