The third edition of the International Falcon Production Farms Auction has commenced, organized by the Saudi Falcon Club with the participation of leading local and international production farms from 14 countries, lasting for 21 days. The auction offers falconers and enthusiasts hundreds of falcons from elite breeds, gathering at the club's headquarters in Mulham (north of Riyadh), in an event that is the largest of its kind in the region, providing a reliable and secure market for falconers and falcon producers, while preserving and enhancing the heritage and traditions of falconry at the national level, and supporting production farms, in an effort to reinforce the Kingdom's position as a global destination for falcons and falconers.
The official spokesperson for the Saudi Falcon Club, Walid Al-Tawil, confirmed that the auction fulfills the demands of falconers for elite falcon breeds, establishing Riyadh as a global center for falcons, in pride and affirmation of this rich heritage which the Kingdom, both leadership and people, strives to preserve, sustain, and pass on to future generations. He mentioned that the International Falcon Production Farms Auction is the first of the club's events this year, which promises falconers a series of ongoing developments to meet their needs. The Saudi Falcon Club auction dedicated to local falcons is anticipated to start on October 1, followed by the International Falcon and Hunting Exhibition from October 5 to October 14, and will be followed by the Malwah race, culminating in the sixth edition of the King Abdulaziz Falcon Festival.
Al-Tawil pointed out the success achieved by the auction in the previous two editions, citing total sales exceeding 10 million riyals for more than 800 falcons, some of which ranked highly in the King Abdulaziz Falcon Festival competitions, which is the largest gathering of falcons in the world. This success prompted the Saudi Falcon Club, a few days ago, to introduce six new heats in the Malwah competition at the festival, designated for the falcons acquired by falconers from the auction. This will take place during the festival scheduled from November 28 to December 14, allowing falcons from the auction to participate in all other heats of the Malwah competition, in an initiative by the club following the notable results achieved by these falcons in Malwah competitions.
The Saudi Falcon Club holds 12 auction nights to sell elite falcons, announcing the offered falcons prior to each auction night. It is noteworthy that the International Falcon Production Farms Auction welcomes its visitors daily from August 5 to August 25, starting from 4 PM until 11 PM.
