Security forces in Asyut managed to eliminate a criminal hotspot at a farm along the western desert road, killing a fugitive criminal accused of murdering two individuals on the first day of Eid al-Adha. The criminal died during an exchange of gunfire with police forces that raided the location.
According to the Egyptian website "Cairo 24," the Director of Security in Asyut received a notification from the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Directorate regarding the operation that included investigative forces from the Asyut Center and general security forces targeting a criminal hotspot at a farm along the western desert road, which was hiding one of the fugitive criminals identified as "A. A. B." residing in the village of Matayia, Asyut, who is accused of killing two people on Eid al-Adha and has been previously implicated in seven cases involving theft, murder, and possession of illegal firearms.
The site reported that upon storming the farm, the suspect immediately opened fire on the security forces, who responded by firing back. It was noted that the fugitive criminal was killed, and a machine gun, seven shotguns, and a quantity of ammunition were found in his possession. The body was transferred to the morgue of Asyut University Hospital, and legal procedures were undertaken, including filing a report and presenting it to the public prosecutor.
