The U.S. Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on the organization "Green Without Borders" and its president, Zahi Sobhi Nahla, for their support of Hezbollah. The department's website revealed that the United States also designated three entities today under sanctions related to North Korea, one of which is located in Russia. The U.S. Treasury's statement said: "Today, the United States imposes sanctions on the organization 'Green Without Borders' and its president, Zahi Sobhi Nahla." It added, "Under Nahla's leadership, GWB has served as a cover for Hezbollah's activities. GWB facilities have been used for weapons training and to provide support for Hezbollah's activities along the Blue Line in southern Lebanon, as well as to hinder the movements of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) under a mandate from the UN Security Council. We are taking this action as part of our efforts to prevent and disrupt financial support and other forms of assistance to terrorist entities in Lebanon, Israel, and around the world. The United States is committed to denying funding to these terrorism support networks and will continue to confront the threats they pose both locally and internationally."
