The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division announced in a statement that "as part of the ongoing follow-up by the specialized units within the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces to combat theft operations in various Lebanese areas, an incident occurred at the beginning of the year 2024 when two unidentified individuals broke into a house in the town of Brisat - Bsharri, which is occupied by the owners during the summer, and stole several belongings from inside. The specialized units in the Information Branch intensified their field and inquiry measures to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
As a result of investigations and inquiries, the branch was able to identify the two involved persons, one of whom is identified as: K. H. (born in 1986, Lebanese). On April 27, 2024, after surveillance and monitoring, one of the branch's patrols managed to arrest him in a tightly secured ambush in the Dinniyeh area. During the interrogation, he confessed to what was attributed to him regarding carrying out the burglary of the house in Brisat, in collaboration with another person, and that they stole a television, a battery, and other items. He also admitted that he, along with others, stole many electrical wires from the public network in several towns in Koura, Bsharri, and the mountains of Jbeil, and sold them at one of the scrap locations in the Badawi area - Tripoli.
On April 29, 2024, as a result of continued follow-up, one of the branch's patrols arrested one of K. H.'s accomplices in the operations of stealing electrical wires from the public network, identified as Z. J. (born in 1980, Lebanese), who confessed to what was attributed to him.
